The first anyone heard of Mike Calahan was as early as 1919, when he began making a name for himself as a bounty hunter near the Texas-Mexico border. Mike gained a reputation for shooting wanted men in the back, then avoiding prosecution by innocently claiming that the outlaws had simply “backed up” into his bullet.
Known aliases: Shoot and Run Dan, Jew Harp Chavez, Baggy Chaps Jack, Li-Chi Chang
Legend has it that Mike bravely shot these three unarmed men in the back, while they prayed with a group of nuns.
