1920’s Hold or Fold

"Folks say poker is the great equalizer. That may be true, but I found the best scale tipper is a little bit of luck and a lot of old fashion' cheating." - Mike, 1925

Mike spent the mid-1920′s traversing the Midwest, his polite and affable demeanor quickly winning him friends wherever he traveled. These opportunities were then used to strike up “friendly games” of poker. In the Spring of 1927, he would go on to make a deposit at the First National Bank of Sioux City in the sum of $15,000 (made up mostly of coins, dollar bills and a handful of gold fillings).
